A Step for Inclusion.
Empowering Sri Lankan educators to build neurodiverse-friendly classrooms through Universal Design for Learning.
About Us
StepAhead Sri Lanka is a self-guided learning platform designed to support teachers and educators in creating inclusive classrooms for neurodiverse learners.
Grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and Assistive Technology (AT), StepAhead Sri Lanka provides evidence-based, culturally relevant, and practical strategies that teachers can easily apply in Sri Lankan classrooms.
The platform offers self-paced learning, downloadable templates, and printable resources to use in day-to-day teaching. These include UDL handouts, self-guided worksheets, and step-by-step templates for implementing low-tech and low-cost AT tools that support students’ individual learning needs.
To help teachers connect theory with practice, StepAhead Sri Lanka features Sri Lankan classroom case studies-relatable examples showing how inclusive practices can be adapted to local contexts.
This initiative represents a small but meaningful step in supporting Sri Lanka’s ongoing plan to achieve educational inclusion, first outlined in 2019.
Through these features, StepAhead Sri Lanka empowers educators to recognise and build on every learner’s strengths-one step for inclusion at a time.
